Ryan Reynolds has revealed his wife Blake Lively is now "obsessed" with Wrexham AFC after her initial doubts about his investment.

Deadpool actor Reynolds, 45, bought the National League club with fellow Hollywood star Rob McElhenney, also 45, last year. When he revealed the surprise news to Lively, he was met with a frosty reception from his other half.

But Reynolds has managed to bring the 34-year-old around in the months since. He took her to Wembley to watch the side in their FA Trophy final against Bromley in May, and her flavoured sparkling beverage company Betty Buzz was announced as the new sleeve sponsor of Wrexham's women's team last month.

Lively, of Gossip Girl fame, is now a fully-fledged fan, Reynolds told Entertainment Today. "She's actually more obsessed with Wrexham than I am," he said.

"We were laying in bed after the Wembley match and she's like, 'I'm now as obsessed if not more than you are with this club and this community and this town and everything it represents and where it can go'.

"She's as obsessed as I am, she's already looking at the schedule throughout the year wondering which matches she can attend so it's pretty great."

Reynolds' wife, whom he met on the set of movie Green Lantern and then married two years later in 2012, wasn't even put off by the fact that Wrexham suffered defeat in the match she attended.

He continued: "It wasn't even a particularly riveting match. We lost one one-nil, it wasn't the outcome we wanted."

With Wrexham also narrowly missing out on promotion in the play-offs last season, Reynolds will be hoping they can go one step better this season - and it seems so too will Lively.
