DeKALB - Over 100 people from the Northern Illinois University and DeKalb communities came together Wednesday afternoon to enjoy some live music and paint the words 'Black Lives Matter' on the sidewalk of the university's entrance on Castle Drive.
The community event comes after a racist slur was spray-painted on the sidewalk in front of NIU's Center for Black Studies, and a march was held after to show solidarity for Black lives on campus.
