Varun Malhotra announces the release of 'Chimpu and the Moon Tree: Book 2'
LONDON, April 27, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In Varun Malhotra's "Chimpu and the Tiger's Shadow: Book 1," he tells the story of a lively little monkey who helps his family and the clan to get fruits and nuts from the forbidden forest and offer them to the Monkey God in spite of the dangers he must face. Now, the little monkey's adventure continues in "Chimpu and the Moon Tree: Book 2" (published by Xlibris UK).
Chimpu often clambered to the very top of the banyan tree, the tallest tree in the forest, from where he could see the vast jungles stretch on and on. One night, he sneaked out of his home at night and climbed to the top of the banyan tree to gaze at the starry skies and the large silver moon. It was on such a night that Chimpu saw the moon was a huge, round circle bathing the fort's walls and the treetops in a beautiful white glow. It was quite captivating for him.
He had climbed the highest tree in the fort but not far from his perch on the banyan tree, he could still see the large round moon on top of another tree, the "Moon Tree" though it was still some distance away. Chimpu reached out his hand and tried to grab the moon. He tried to block the moon with his open hands but it still bathed the forest in its light. And it seemed miles away as if stuck on top of a tall tree in the forest. Will he be able to pluck the moon from the sky and give it to his mother?
"This book deals with issues from the animals' angle and carries a serious message that animals too have emotions and feelings and we should respect and love them," Malhotra says. "When asked what he wants readers to take away from this book, he answers, "For them to feel a bond with the animals and to be curious to learn more about our jungles and forests and those who live in them."
