The auditorium at Sundial Center, 14801 N. 103rd Ave., buzzed with activity Sept. 28 when Independent Newsmedia hosted its annual fall senior expo.
More than 1,000 senior citizens strolled through the room packed with vendors offering a wide variety of services, gathering information and giveaway items. There were nearly 70 vendors at tables throughout the auditorium.
Residents had mixed reasons for attending the event. Some were there for the social aspects, others came to see the entertainment and others came looking for general or specific information. Several who were there for the vendors said they found several resources they had not thought about. One couple who came just for the on stage entertainment said they were surprised at the variety of businesses represented.
Vendors ranged from the Sun City Posse to mortgage companies to health agencies to community service groups. There was a steady stream of visitors to the expo, with the walkways between booths crowded from start to nearly the end.
The Sun City Poms performed two routines about halfway through the expo. People lined up in front of the stage to watch them perform.
