Opera Birmingham goes live
Set sail with “The Pirates of Penzance,” a classic comedy that boasts one of the most famous patter songs in opera and musical theater history on April 10-11 at the Avondale Amphitheater. The show will feature an outstanding local cast, along with the Opera Birmingham Chorus and Samford Opera. The production will be presented in an outdoor, open-air setting following COVID-19 safety protocols. For the health of patrons, staff and performers, masks are required and social distancing will be in effect. To reduce touch points, tickets will be digitally scanned at the entrance and QR codes and links will be provided to access the program digitally. Performance length is nearly one hour and sung as written in English. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 26 for live performances.

Bellingrath Gardens and Home
Hop on down to the Gardens in Theodore for some “eggstra” special Easter fun Saturday, March 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. Bellingrath will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Great Lawn with thousands of Easter eggs scattered for children to fill their baskets in a noncompetitive, socially distanced setting. There will be hunts for different age groups, as well as prizes, candy and “eggtivities.”
