Anti-vaccination protesters gather at Ridgefield High School - The Columbian

Dozens of anti-vaccination protesters lined South Hillhurst Road in front of Ridgefield High School on Wednesday morning — hours before a student-organized COVID-19 vaccine clinic was scheduled.

Parents reported some of the protesters had bullhorns and were yelling at people and intimidating the students. According to one parent, students came into classes this morning crying.

Ridgefield police were called to the school shortly after 9 a.m. for traffic hazards and noise complaints.

The protesters — a group that included people who appeared to be student ages — held signs that read “COVID-19 vaccine uses risky new mRNA technology” and “Our Children are NOT lab rats #noexperiments.”

The clinic, which runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. a the school, 2630 S. Hillhurst Road, Ridgefield, was planned with the help of ASB students at the school. (For more information about the clinic, call 888-225-4625. Or schedule an appointment online. This clinic offers the Pfizer vaccine.)
