Ryan Reynolds's Mother's Day Note Offers Glimpse of What Blake Lively Has To Put Up With - Vanity Fair

It's adorable when he does it.

Ryan Reynolds shared a declaration of love and admiration for his wife and the mother of his three children, Blake Lively, with his 37 million Instagram followers on Sunday. The Mother's Day missive began sweet and sensitive, then devolved into his personal brand of benign immaturity for those who bothered to read below the fold.

"It can’t be said enough," he began, "you’re the heart and soul of every moment this family shares. I’m grateful for the light and for the kindness you smuggle into each and every second of our lives." He continued, "every laugh. Every blink and every thoughtful moment of vulnerability. The tender grit it takes to be a mother in 2021 is an act of pure strength and heroism."

That's when the yukster took over, proving once again why he's such a perfect match for Deadpool.

"Never could I have predicted anonymous airport bathroom sex would lead to this. Or how you’d hire Dog The Bounty Hunter to find me."

He wrapped things up sweetly, with "either way, I’m lucky to reflect a little of the sunlight you shine on all of us. Happy Mother’s Day, my love."

It's no surprise that Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld was top of the comments, also wishing Lively a "Happy Mom's Day."

Reynolds and Lively met while shooting the maligned DC superhero film Green Lantern in 2010. They began dating the following year and were married in September 2012. In a wacky post-credits moment in the 2018 film Deadpool 2, Reynolds-as-Deadpool goes back in time to shoot Reynolds-the-eager-actor in the back of the head for thinking the script for the ring-wearing intergalactic policeman was any good.
