CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The sun came out for community members to enjoy golf four-person-scramble style. This tournament at Paradise Valley Golf Club was to raise funds for the Wyoming Heroes Fund.
A Wyoming Life Flight Helicopter made an appearance over the course. Golfers bought golf balls to be thrown out of the helicopter for a chance to win prizes. Money golfers paid to play and from the golf balls are going to the Wyoming Heroes Fund. This money can help a first responder and their family if they are hurt or killed on the job.
Tiffany Elhart, A member of The Fraternal Order of Police number six, said some of the funds raised from last year were used. “We are pleased that we had the money and that we were able to help them through a difficult time in their life,” Elhart said.
There were over 100 teams of four players and Elhart added it was great to see everyone there supporting the cause. “The Casper community rallies around all first responders we are are blessed to live in Casper,” Elhart said.
Off-duty officers came for the fun and the on-duty ones were invited. “It’s been extremely busy these past couple weeks and in our line of work that’s not good,” Elhart said.
An event emcee reminded golfers to have fun and remember the cause.
