NORMAL (Heart of Illinois ABC) -- Hundreds of people, many of them students, gathered to support each other as a fellow classmate remains unaccounted for.
The student center was packed at Illinois State University for a "Night of Support" as the search continues for the missing ISU grad student.
25-year-old Jelani Day disappeared more than 10 days ago. Police said they found his car in Peru.
School leaders were there Friday night, showing support for Day's family. Also for the other students, offering counseling and other services.
"I don't want nobody to feel like he is gone he is just missing right now. We cannot not find him, but we are going to find him. So I need all of y'all to know that Jelani is not dead. He is alive and we are going to find him," said Carmen Bolden, mother of Day.
Peru Police are asking for home surveillance video from neighbors along airport and charters Streets in Peru. They believe Day may have walked down those streets on Tuesday or Wednesday last week.
