Forgive me, for I am one of the (many) Twitter/TikTok It Ends With Us fangirls who are disappointed, shall we say, in the first look images of the book's upcoming film adaptation. To Blake Lively and her naturally long golden hair, it's nothing personal; I promise.
Questionable costume choices aside, the recently released paparazzi pics – that have come to us via the film's set – have us reminiscent of the actor's most memorable character. Contrary to always having "to go" (IYKYK), Serena van der Woodsen and her side-parted wavy lengths are back and seemingly, here to stay.
Opposing the below bedhead style, her character, Lily Bloom's recent 'do is more tamed, if you will.
Forget Gossip Girl, for the radiant tone is giving *Golden Girl*.
Now, OG GG watchers will know that Serena's hair was always a topic of conversation; whether it be throughout the TV series, aka whispers in the school's corridors (read: season 1, episode 14) or our collective youthful selves attempting to recreate her effortlessly loose curls IRL, nothing could compare to such a monumental beauty movement in the early 2000s MySpace/Bebo scene.
I suppose she never had the time to brush her hair, because she always had to go!
Iconic references aside, we are yet to pick the movie's head of hair department, Robert Lugo's brain on the inspiration and process behind achieving such a look. However, we predict that the style requires second-day curls and some teasing. Not to mention a metal-pin tail comb to recreate the iconic Y2K parting.
Now, like Serena and apparently Lily, "I have to go" and recreate this look...
