Protesters were back on the streets for the seventh straight day Friday.

Crowds in the hundreds – an uptick from what it had been in recent days – have been peacefully marching and demonstrating in downtown Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

A citywide curfew in Buffalo went into effect at 8 p.m.

In front of Buffalo City Hall was a chalk drawing of a body with the words, "How many more BPD?!" at the spot where 75-year-old Martin Gugino was pushed to the ground by police on Thursday night.

A few dozen protesters began in Niagara Square Friday afternoon. They then marched down Delaware Avenue to Gates Circle and back, stopping in the circle for eight minutes and 46 seconds to reflect on the Minneapolis killing of George Floyd.

Back in Niagara Square, protesters gathered to demand an end to racism and police brutality.

By 5:30 p.m., the crowd had grown to about 200 people. Some of the protesters intended to march into Allentown.

An 8 p.m. curfew remains in place for the City of Buffalo.

Meanwhile, protesters also gathered in Niagara Falls for a march.

Some Niagara Falls merchants boarded up their storefronts in anticipation of Friday's events.

Protesters marched up Pine Avenue chanting.
