Like many other families, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are scaling back Christmas plans this year.

Per People, Reynolds took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend, sharing with fans how he, his wife, and their three children will be celebrating the holiday differently in 2020 amid the ongoing pandemic. In a typed message, Reynolds wrote that his children unfortunately won't be able to see their grandparents, as coronavirus cases across the country continue to surge and government guidance to stay home and limit unnecessary travel is still in effect.

"My kids won't see their grandparents this year for Christmas. Or friends or aunts and uncles. It sucks," Reynolds wrote. "My hat's off to so many others doing the same."

Reynolds, Lively, and their kids will be joining countless others changing their holiday plans amid the current pandemic. Holiday travel is expected to take a 30 percent decline in the U.S. this year due to coronavirus concerns. The CDC is also encouraging families to stay at home to prevent the spread of the disease.

Though Reynolds and Lively tend to keep their family life private (and seldom show the faces of their girls, Inez, James, and Betty Reynolds), the Deadpool actor often talks highly of fatherhood and how he enjoys being a parent to three girls.

"I love being a girl dad. I have three daughters, which I never in a million years would imagine," Reynold previously said during an interview on Access. "I come from all boys. I have three older brothers. … So for me to have three daughters has been such a ride, and I love every second of it."

The actor has also expressed how even between his and Lively's busy filming schedules, they continue to prioritize family time over everything else.

"I try to be as present as possible. I shoot movies and my wife shoots movies and we go travel all over the place and we just all go together," said the actor, per People. "I think that that's been the best part of it. We really don't spend a lot of time apart. I get to spend a lot of time with my girls."
