PITTSBURGH — Police continue to investigate after three people were found dead in a reported shooting incident in Pittsburgh’s Homewood South neighborhood on New Year’s Eve.
The victims found inside the Hamilton Avenue home are Nandi Fitzgerald, 28, Denzel Nolan Jr., 13, and Tatiana Hill, 28, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Just days after the tragedy, the family and friends of the victims gathered to remember them with a balloon release.
“A mother is gone… two mothers gone… and a son… in our neighborhood,” said Mubarik Ismaeli, president of Homewood Community Sports.
Nolan, better known as Buddy, started in the organization when he was just 4 or 5 years old, Ismaeli said.
“Our kids are hurting, families are hurting,” said Ismaeli. “For everyone not to be up in arms and sick and tired of this is extremely alarming and upsetting to me. I am tired of it.”
Fitzgerald’s mother Wanda told Channel 11 the pain she feels is unimaginable.
“I am numb, I have no feeling, I wouldn’t want this to happen to no one else’s family.”
Wanda also tells Channel 11 that their family experienced another tragedy just months prior, after Nandi’s baby boy drowned. Now, she wants the person or persons who took her daughter’s life held accountable.
“I want justice… just justice,” she said.
As of Monday, Pittsburgh Police have not released any arrest or suspect information.
