Hundreds of people gathered at two different block parties Saturday night in Philadelphia, prompting the police to be called in to break them up.
This happened at a time when people are supposed to be social distancing due to the coronavirus, Action News 6 ABC is reporting.
According to reports, the crowd started gathering around 10 p.m. at the 5800 block of Colgate Street in the city’s Lawncrest section, where video shows many people in close proximity.
Two emergency response teams were called in to disperse them, reports indicate.
Authorities were called out to another block party around 11:30 p.m. on the 3300 block of Allegheny Avenue, where 300 to 400 people had gathered, prompting police to shut down the road as they broke up the crowd, reports indicate.
No arrests have been reported.
This comes as Philadelphia County saw an increase of 177 coronavirus cases on Saturday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
