The victims of the house explosion on Marentette Beach last weekend were great-grandparents known for their hospitality and sociable nature, says their daughter.
“They were the kind of people who just wanted to parent you,” said Carly Lemire, daughter of Dave and Dianne Nadalin — who were killed when their cottage-style home near Point Pelee blew up on Sunday evening.
“They always wanted to feed you and make sure that you were comfortable, that you had everything you needed.”
Lemire said her parents were both retirees of Windsor Regional Hospital — Dave, 63, a former respiratory therapist, and Dianne, 65, a former nurse.
The “snowbird” couple had lived on their Leamington lakefront property for the past decade, while wintering at a second residence in Texas.
“They loved their home. They used to live in Southwood Lakes, but they sold that house and put pretty much everything into that little cottage,” Lemire said.
