Made by Gather, marketer of Bella, Brim Coffee, Crux and CRUXGG small appliances and housewares, has named housewares retailing veteran Shawn Austin president.
With more than 23 years of retail experience, Austin most recently served as the omni GMM at Bed Bath & Beyond, responsible for kitchen, dining and storage for stores and digital. Before that he was the evp/omni GMM of the Macy’s Home Store.
“The most important thing for us is smart, sustainable growth and the way we’re going to continue driving that is by having people who bring a depth of leadership experience to the table and also have a passion for thinking outside the box,” said Shae Hong, founder and CEO of Made by Gather (formerly Sensio).
Austin’s appointment follows the hiring by Made by Gather of new leadership across strategic finance, marketing and e-commerce to coincide with an aggressive expansion plan for the company, Hong said.
