AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - A protest against Governor Mills took place today in Augusta.
The event, “A Constitutional Call to Action” was hosted by the Swinging Gate Organization.
Keynote speakers took to the podium in the courtyard of the State House to protest Governor Mills handling of the pandemic.
A large crowd attended the event as folks came from around the state in the snowy conditions.
According to Swinging Gate, their goal is to get the Maine Government to operate within the bounds of the Constitution.
”There’s this undercurrent of pent up energy that’s not doing well under this governors rule, and it’s important to harness that organic energy that’s out here that needs something to do, their hands are tied,” says Event Organizer Dick Campbell.
We reached out to Governor Mills’ team for a comment on the rally, but have had no response so far.
