Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been married since 2012 and, like any couple, they’re bound to have a spat from time to time - or, at least a confusing exchange in which one of them appears to have more than one spousal relationship…
The Gossip Girl alum shared a rare Instagram story of Reynolds acting in a promo video for Mint Mobile, saying: 'I've asked my wife and plan member to back me up.'
Part of the video clip also shows a blonde woman appear on screen and Reynolds asserting: 'You're not my wife,' before said woman assures: 'No, I just stand in for her on set during the boring stuff.'
In response to Reynolds’ advert, the 34-year-old wrote: 'Darling, if you charged more, you could afford me.'
And in reference to the imposter wife, Lively signed off her Instagram story message with: 'Sorry, your real wife [sic].'
Reynolds questions how the woman in the video can call what he's doing 'boring' as he believes the family plan he's announcing is revolutionary.
Lively had a funny response to this too, posting a second Instagram story, writing: 'Feel free to revolutionise the couch when you sleep on it tonight [sic].'
Ouch.
In February Lively, who shares three daughters (James, seven, Inez, five and Betty, two) with 45-year-old Reynolds, admitted that a night away from home during New York Fashion Week allowed her to have 'a whole alternative life'.
While at the Michael Kors' AW22 runway show, she told E! News: 'This is his first night show ever, which is very exciting,' before adding, 'I could put my kids to bed and then secretly sneak out and go have a whole alternative life'.
However, on Mother's Day in the US last year, Reynolds, who previously spoke about what it's like being a dad to his 'wild daughters' shared a heartwarming tribute to his wife.
'It can’t be said enough… you’re the heart and soul of every moment this family shares,' he began.
'I’m grateful for the light and for the kindness you smuggle into each and every second of our lives. I see you in the eyes of our children… Every laugh. Every blink and every thoughtful moment of vulnerability. The tender grit it takes to be a mother in 2021 is an act of pure strength and heroism.'
