MOORHEAD — About 125 people took to the streets of Moorhead for a "Back The Blue" march Thursday, Sept. 17.
They marched from the Moorhead Center Mall and gathered at the Veteran's Memorial Bridge in support of local police officers. Many showed their support by wearing blue and holding up homemade signs.
Cars driving by honked to show their support. Supporters there said they want police to know they're appreciated, especially during this difficult year.
"It's a sad thing when they can't go out to eat for fear of what's going to be in their food. It's a sad thing that they can't stop alongside of the road and write a report or eat a sandwich without having to constantly be on a swivel, and we just want them to know that the majority of us are looking out for them. Even if they don't see us, we're there," said Stacey Pritchard, who attended the event.
