DULUTH, MN -- As democratic Presidental nominee Joe Biden visited Hermantown Friday, rallies both for and against his campaign were held around the Carpenters Union Building.
About a block away from the site that Biden was speaking at, a group of Biden supporters gathered as he made his first trip to the Northland this campaign cycle.
"I think it's great. I think it's showing that Joe Biden cares about Minnesotans, cares about rural parts of Minnesota for coming up north to Duluth and I'm glad he's here," said Chris Madden, a Biden supporter.
Meanwhile, right across the street from the Carpenters Union, hundreds of Trump supporters gathered.
Those we spoke with said while they couldn't make it to Trump's rally in Bemidji, so they were glad they could make their voices heard here.
"When I had heard that Biden was actually going to pop up in Duluth here, I felt it was my duty to give him a very big warm Trump welcome and welcome him to Trump country," said Sheri Auclair, a Trump supporter.
Many held signs and waved as Biden's caravan drove by.
