Netflix has acquired the screen rights to ‘We Used to Live Here’, a psychological thriller written by Marcus kliewer. Blake Lively is linked to the project, and will star as well as the producer alongside Kate Vorhoff through Lively’s production company B for Effort, along with Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment and Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan of 6th & Idaho.
The novel has a powerful premise: it tells the story of a return to the old childhood home, in which he will realize that it is not exactly like the same place he remembers.
The story has been published in NoSleep, the horror section of Reddit. As the outlet also notes, Netflix previously purchased another NoSleep story for adaptation, Matt Query’s haunting country story, ‘My Wife & I Bought a Ranch.’
‘We Used to Live Here’, available to read here, follows the plight of a new owner, who is interrupted during the move by the arrival of a family of strangers. The family just wants to take a look at the old place, explaining that they used to live there. After making the extremely reckless decision to let them in, the new owner and his girlfriend find themselves snowbound with the family during a snowstorm. While we’re not sure what happens after that, the situation doesn’t look good at all.

This is the second sale of a No Sleep story in the last year to Netflix, which was already done as we have said with ‘My Wife & I Bought a Ranch’ by Matt Query, whose writer brother of Query, Harrison, is in charge to do the adaptation.
Lively also has another project with Netflix: He also recently signed to star in and produce the adaptation of ‘Lady Killer’, based on the Dark Horse Comics series.
