Violet Maxine Lively Tucker Violet Maxine Lively Tucker, of Palestine, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, the 25th day of June 2021. Mrs. Tucker lived a life full of love until her passing at the age of 94. She was born on the 6th day of October 1926, in Houston County Texas, to parents Carlton Lively and Cornelia Goff Lively.
Mrs. Tucker was raised in the Percilla Community and graduated from Slocum High School. She worked as a telephone operator for many years before marrying Robert Tucker. They both traveled around various parts of the country due to her husband Robert's job. Mrs. Tucker was a person of deep faith. She attended Trinity Church and most recently Emmanuel Baptist Church and taught countless Bible studies throughout her life. She enjoyed quilting and was quite good at it. If you were blessed to have known Mrs. Tucker, then you were aware of her love for the Dallas Cowboys. She was an avid fan and cheered the team on during numerous seasons.
Mrs. Tucker is preceded in death by her parents Carlton and Cornelia Lively; husband, Robert "Bob" Tucker; daughter, Frances Sunday; son, Bobby Tucker; sisters, Eva Wilmeth, and Dorothy Smith; and brothers, James Lively and Gerald Lively.
Mrs. Tucker leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Galenda Tucker of Palestine; sisters-in-law, Linda Lively of DeSoto, and Sue Lively of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Stephen Tucker of Carrollton, Chris Tucker and wife Shannon of New Braunfels, and Lori Baker and husband Ricky of Tennessee Colony; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Sharon Sheridan and husband Dan of Midlothian, Barrett Stevens and wife Sandy of Anna, Pam Bean and husband Randy of Brownsboro, Rita Salmon of Palestine, Nancy Latham of Onalaska, Linda Poole of Hinesville, Georgia, Rhonda Jarrett of Ohio, Debbie Underwood and husband Jimmy of Ohio, Bobby Wilmeth, and Gene Wilmeth.
A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Tucker's life is to be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the 30th day of June 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating. Mrs. Tucker will be laid to rest next to her husband in Muse Cemetery following the funeral service. Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Legacy at Town Creek and Heart-to-Heart Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Mrs. Tucker.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be directed towards Heart-to-Heart Hospice Foundation, 7240 Chase Oaks Blvd., Plano, Texas 75025, or Muse Cemetery, 1240 ACR 1208 Grapeland, TX 75844.
