COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Dozens of people gathered in Emmanuel Community Park to pray for the safe return of a missing Naples teen on Sunday.
Sophia Treissa, 17, was reported missing on June 12.
Her mother told Collier County deputies the family’s ring camera recorded Sophia leaving the house and getting into an SUV. The mother believed the teen was spending the night with a friend.
Treissa said after her daughter didn’t come back home and stopped answering text messages, she used an app to locate Sophia’s phone.
It was found in a spare bedroom at Sophia’s friend’s grandmother’s house, but the teen was nowhere to be found. The friend also denied being together.
Sophia’s mother told police it wasn’t in her nature to run away.
Now, friends and family are asking the public to share her photo, while they hold onto hope for answers.
Anyone with information on Sophia’s whereabouts are urged to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
