PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) -- Over 100 people gathered Thursday evening to remember the Peoria woman who was allegedly shot by her boyfriend.
Friends and family hugged and cried as they celebrated the life of 37-year-old Ashley Tankersley. She was shot and killed Sunday. Police said they found her body in a ditch in Brimfield.
Her father, Charles Webster, said she was a strong woman who did not deserve to die like this.
"Our daughter man, was truly loved," Webster continued, "She's just a beautiful person, she loved her father, she was a loving person."
Webster said he is begging for the gun violence to end.
Tankersley's family said she leaves behind three children.
