MINNEAPOLIS — Demonstrators gathered at 38th Street and Chicago Avenue Tuesday to protest police brutality after the death of George Floyd. Floyd died following a forcible arrest by Minneapolis police Monday evening.
In a video of the incident, Floyd is heard telling officers, "I can't breathe," and asking for water. Four police officers involved in the incident were fired Tuesday afternoon.
Protesters wore masks and were social distancing. A memorial to Floyd was also set up near the intersection, as shown in a photo posted by FOX 9 reporter Alex Lehnert.
The FBI and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the incident.
