PORTSMOUTH — J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel will host a food drive Saturday, May 16 to benefit Gather.
The funeral home at 84 Broad St. will hold the drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect items for the food pantry in Portsmouth. Gather is in immediate need of essentials for families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The funeral home will set up a tent in its parking lot for cars to pull in and drop off items. Donated items can include, but are not limited to, non-perishable foods, soaps and cleaners. J. Verne Wood also will accept financial contributions. Donations can be by check made out to Gather. The tax identification number is 02-0226943.
