Services began Thursday for a Waltham police officer who was killed while working a construction detail in the Massachusetts city.Officer Paul Tracey, 58, was fatally struck on the night of Dec. 6, while working a detail on Totten Pond Road. A utility worker was also killed in the incident. Tracey, a 28-year veteran of the Waltham Police Department, was married to fellow Waltham police Officer Kristin Tracey, who is the school resource officer at Waltham High School. The couple had two children, Danika and Tyler. A procession carried Tracey from the Brasco & Son Memorial Funeral Home to Our Lady of Comforter of the Afflicted Parish at 920 Trapelo Road in Waltham. Thousands of police formed ranks outside the church ahead of a visitation for law enforcement at 2 p.m. followed by a public visitation from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Comforter.A procession to the church will cross through Waltham starting at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Friday. It will follow a route along Moody Street, Main Street, Lyman Street, Beaver Street, Forest Street and Trapelo Road. After the service, a procession will convey Tracey's remains to Mount Feake Cemetery by way of Trapelo Road, Forest Street, Beaver Street, Lexington Street, Main Street, Moody Street, Maple Street and Prospect Street.
