TULSA COUNTY, Okla. (KOKI) — More than a dozen law enforcement agencies were at the River Spirt Expo Center for the first ever countywide law enforcement job fair.
The event welcomed several people with resumes in hand on Tuesday to see what agencies in the Tulsa County area have to offer.
Law enforcement agencies say the past few years have been extremely difficult. They’ve been put in a negative light, young people are quitting and those at retirement are cashing in.
Haley Matcaf just graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Northeastern State University. She says she has wanted to work in law enforcement since she was in 6th grade.
“I’ve actually wanted to do law enforcement since I was six years old. I’m 22 now so it was ten years ago I decided that,” says Matcaf.
Each agency has different requirements for joining and also different opportunities for growth.
