GLASGOW, Ky. – Summer of 2021 is already shaping up to feature more pre-pandemic activities – a big one being in-person summer camp.
The Dawg Days of Summer camp started Tuesday at Glasgow High School, where students entering first through sixth grade can participate in various activities with friends.
“Today, we’re doing an escape room in the dawg days of summer camp. We had to go through a color lock and a shape lock and a number lock, and we have to solve clues to get us there,” said student Hadley Stinson.
Activities like the escape room give students a chance to flex their creative muscles, as well as combat learning loss and give them in-person time with friends.
“I’m glad I can get back out here and play with my friends again,” said student Brilee Pitcock.
“I’m very thankful to my school district, since we haven’t had many opportunities to be together lately, and this is a fun way to get back in the swing of things,” added student Callaway Mackie.
“My friends that are close to me don’t really live around me, so this is an opportunity for me to spend more time with them during the summer,” said student Elizabeth Walls.
It’s a sign that summer of 2021 will be more of a treat.
