Aside from her impressive acting abilities, enviable fashion ensembles and sweet family life, there's nothing that we don't love about Blake Lively. Now, she's adding another skill to her list of talents.
Making her film directorial debut, the Gossip Girl alum and Met Gala co-hair is set to bring a comic book to the big screen. Titled Seconds, the 2014 graphic novel was written by Bryan Lee O'Malley (Scott Pilgrim) and follows the character Katie Clay, a chef who discovers that she has the power to right any wrongs by simply writing them down, eating a magical mushroom and going to sleep.
But of course, nothing good lasts and over time, as she overuses her powers, she warps space and time in a not so favourable way.
As fans of Lively know, directing Seconds will be Lively's second time behind the camera after making her first ever directorial debut in Taylor Swift's music video for "I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version)".
The video itself starred Miles Teller, and earned Lively nominations for the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards for best directing and producing.
For Seconds, the film's script has been written by Edgar Wright, who adapted O'Malley's Pilgrim series into the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Wright will produce Seconds alongside Marc Platt.
Thankfully, Lively is trying her hand at other projects alongside Seconds. The mother of three is also getting ready to produce and star in Netflix's We Used To Live Here, and is one of four co-chairs at the 2022 Met Gala, alongside her husband Ryan Reynolds, actress Regina King and actor and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
She's doing all of this while running her non-alcoholic mixer company, Betty Buzz, which she launched in November 2021. In an interview with People, the 34-year-old explained that she began the business to inspire her daughters as a working mother, adding that she "brings them along" to work with her.
"I want to be as present of a mother as humanly possible and I want them to feel my presence, but I also think the best way to be the best mother is to show them that you can have a life and have a passion and have an identity outside of just being a mother," she told the publication.
"I mean, being a mother is completely all-encompassing, and that doesn't mean there are a lot of mothers who don't have the opportunity to work as well," she said, adding, "but just having your [own] identity is, I think, very important. And teaching them that they can maintain themselves and that everything is possible [is crucial]."
Keep your eyes peeled here for any updates on Lively's upcoming film, Seconds.
