CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Saturday May 28, thousands of people made their way from all across Wyoming and surrounding states to attend Donald Trumps first rally in the Cowboy State. Although doors didn’t open until 11:00 parking lots started filling up by 8:00. The rally, which was originally scheduled to be held outdoors, was moved inside the Ford Wyoming Center due to weather and excited fans filled the seats to hear from the former president. The rally was held in order to endorse Harriet Hageman for Wyoming’s new congresswoman instead of Liz Cheney.
Before Mr. Trump arrived though, attendees heard from a few preliminary speakers that were endorsing Harriet Hageman which included:
Rep. Andy Biggs, U.S. Representative for Arizona’s 5th Congressional District
Rep. Matt Gaetz, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 1st Congressional District
Rep. Lauren Boebert, U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District
Rep. Kat Cammack, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 3rd Congressional District
Chairman Frank Eathorne, Chairman of the Wyoming Republican Party
Sen. Cheri Steinmetz, State Senator for Wyoming’s 3rd Senate District
Rep. Chip Neiman, State Representative for Wyoming’s 1st House District
Rep. John Bear, State Representative for Wyoming’s 31st House District
Hon. Marti Halverson, Former State Representative for Wyoming’s 22nd House District
They also heard some special video addresses that also endorsed Harriet Hageman which consisted of:
Leader Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader, and U.S. Representative for California’s 23rd District
Rep. Elise Stefanik, Chair of the House Republican Conference and U.S. Representative for New York’s 21st Congressional District
Rep. Jim Jordan, U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 4th Congressional District
After hearing from these different speakers Hageman made her appearance to address the crowd and give some insight into what she’d like to change if elected as Wyoming’s congresswoman. She gave a speech that focused on “Being Fed Up” with different political figures and how things are ran in the country.
During her speech Hageman said, “I have driven over 23,000 miles around Wyoming since I announced that I was running for congress and there has been one overriding theme that I have heard over, and over, and over again and that is we’re fed up.”
Following Harriet Hageman Donald Trump took the stage to, not only, endorse Harriet but also speak on some recent events such as the Texas school shooting and Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.
“Russia now has a different tactic, they stay way far away and they just keep lobbing missiles, and missiles, and missiles into these cities and these poor people that are being decimated and you’re going to end up with nothing. That whole country is being obliterated and you’ll end up with millions of lives, and you may end up with a third World War by the way,” Mr. Trump said.
The rally wrapped up around 6:30 at the FWC with the former presidents remarks lasting almost an hour and a half and finishing off with a reminder that preliminary voting begins Tuesday August 16.
